Greece (Greek: Ελλάδα, historically Ἑλλάς, Hellás), officially the Hellenic Republic (Ελληνική Δημοκρατία, Ellīnikī́ Dīmokratía), is a country in southeastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. It has borders with Albania, Bulgaria and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) to the north, and Turkey to the east. The Aegean Sea lies to the east and south of mainland Greece, while the Ionian Sea lies to the west. Both parts of the Eastern Mediterranean basin feature a vast number of islands, islets and rock islands. Greece looks back on the heritage of the ancient Greek civilization, generally considered to be the seminal culture which provided the foundation of Western civilization. As such, it is the birthplace of democracy, Western philosophy, the Olympic Games, Western literature and historiography, political science, major scientific and mathematical principles, and Western drama, including both tragedy and comedy.

History

To start of with, Greece is unquestionably a country with a long trance history. Opening with underground raves near the beginning of 1990’s, many people discovered an unexplained sensation in this music and turn out to be true believers and supporters.

Greece to bring a miraculous sound that everyone was in love with. In addition, numerous Greeks started their personal trance carriers as artists/DJs/promoters/label owners, by appearing in local secretive events in warehouses or mountains by traveling out of the country to perform and to gather new music. They’ve also started to organize their own events as well as compiling albums and compilations for the music they were devoted to.

Last but not least, the wonderful vibes, the unity and the atmosphere of those events, is something that still many people perceive as the “good old days” era.

2009 left us with the best memories, great music, magnificent releases and outstanding gatherings.

Musicians from all of Hellas wrote their amazing ”brush” to the scene of electronic music. “OmegaHertz” with his “Anamorfoplasis” by the infant “Elxis DiscoGraphic” Label, jerk the waters in the middle of the really hot summer, with his bomber new wave “Electrogranic” Psychedelic Trance album and “Radical Distortion”, with their “Psychedelic Dreams” and his Old School sound knocked and kicked your door, to remind you that Goa Trance is still alive! Plus The “Pause” project, released the alternative “Doppler Effect”. If you are fan of chill tunes, 2009 “Side Liner” gave us his beautiful child “Crying Cities”, D.Batistatos wrote the sweet “Weeper On the Shore”, with the first step of 2010, digitally “Cydelix” find us with his “ The Right To Remain Silent”, and on March we will find the wonderful band “Zed Garden” with their “Simple Thought”. Everybody wait the “updates” of the well known “Wizzy Noize” group, “Ion”, “Ridden”, “Conwerter” and the “dark side” of this Land “Orestis”, “Kerberos”, “DigitalX”, “Darkshire”, “Stranger”, “Kulu” , “Dark Elf” and many more artists who are “travelling” thru psychedelic spheres above of our colorful planet, Earth.

2001 our celestial sphere, the 3rd circle among the Sun, Gaia, Earth, born the historical “Samothraki Dance Festival” with the mysterious religion that had its roots in pre-Hellenic tribes who inhabited the island of “Electris”- Samothraki, North Aegean sea. Only a few miles away from 2008 at Asprovalta North Hellas, Aurora festival until our brand new summer season 2010, will gather again as a continuer of this enormous event, thousands of crazy fans from all around the world. A lot of other events warm this imagination of music and travel inside the paths of the ancient, the roots of the living spiritual rising…

Astro-D is a pioneer of local electronic music scene, started djing in Athens at early 90's, with techno, trance and break tunes, in several famous clubs of the scene, like Lobby, Free Your Bass, Mad, Sofita, Goa, Monopolio, Rex, Taiga, Vavel, Mercedes, Privilege and many others. He was also djing on several radio stations like Spice FM, Kanali 1, Sky Fm, and Storm Radio .++, mixing old school techno tunes (R&S, Rising High, React, Tresor, ZYX) and breaks (XL, Suburban, White House, Kickin, Boogie Beat Time). In the mid 90's he created Overtune mobile team, making many mobile parties with lot of guests dj's and live P.a's. Nowdays found him continuing his djing, playing many styles, from old school Goa, psytrance, psy-prog etc.AT 2012 he performed at aurora festival ,i lve you fest,and underground noise+space alchemy lab partys! Coocking up ya brain!!!!
