Slovakia (long form: Slovak Republic; Slovak: Slovensko, long form Slovenská republika) is a landlocked country in Central Europe with a population of over five million and an area of about 49,000 square kilometres (almost 19,000 square miles). It borders the Czech Republic and Austria to the west, Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east and Hungary to the south. The largest city is its capital, Bratislava. Slovakia is a member state of the European Union, NATO, UN, OECD, WTO, UNESCO and other international organizations.
HistoryWherever your travels take you, Slovakia promoted as a ”little big country” should definitely be one of the stops. Beautiful scenery in the countryside and dominant mountain ranges provide remarkable places for outdoor events where nature itself might be counted as an amazing decoration. Yet we try to be counterpart of most that's going on in world within psy-trance scene. In the year 1999 Cosmic dance organized first psy-trance event aimed to wider audience. Since then various crews started to organize psy-parties. In 2000 Zdeno and Rolo baba, wondering around the world, founded beautiful tradition of Hill Top festival (named after famous parties in Goa) located in central Slovakia. Hill Top is considered to be the largest outdoor event in Slovakia to celebrate summer solstice uniting the whole scene together.
[2009] Tribalism in SLOVAKIA
One of the most actice crews is Spectral Sound based in Nitra which was started by Ellisdee and Gyrro in 2003 with the party called Awakening that greatly echoed among the partypeople. In 2005 Elephant and Hrasho decided to join the crew. They have brought new energy and together they organized many club parties with cosmic atmopshere and really good energy. In 2006 they have organized the first Mystika open air festival where artists like Cosmosis, Electric Universe, Penta, Electrypnose, Drumatik, Silicon Sound, Menog etc. performed. This year, 2009, they are preparing the fourth Mystika festival, with artists like U-Recken, Braincell, Ghreg on Earth, Goasia, Talpa etc. Besides organizing psy-trance events the Spectral Sound guys design their own decorations and make their own clothing and produce music. But in Slovakia, there are also some other active tribes like: Psyalaska (organizign parties like Chvatimech or Chopok), Quadradelic Society (organizing parties like Child of Flowers), Radical Karma (organizing parties like Earthdance) and other little crews preparing club parties for Slovakian freaks. There are also some good producers in Slovakia. The most famous is Cosmo, who plays all around the world. To name some more, not as famous, but the best representatives of the Slovakian trance scene are Gyrro, Tha, Wirrareka, Ray Subject, Leftism or HaraBurda. Besides these music producers, in Slovakian events you could hear also some really good DJs like Elephant, Gubo, Condor, Kary, Nokoklaus, Demented, Pyramid etc. As you know, also decorations are the part of all psychedelic trance parties. Also in Slovakia there are some crews, preparing really nice decorations for events.
